The Shem Lineage Entrusted to Jacob (Israel)

The lineage of Shem was called by God from the Land of the Chaldees to go into the land of Canaan. The lineage begins with Terah passed on to Abraham to Isaac and then Jacob. Ishmael the son of an Egyptian mother as well as Esau the son of a half Syrian mother, Rebekah are both rejected by the LORD to carry on the Shemetic lineage, through which must come the Savior of the world, the only begotten son of God. Yashua the anointed one or as he is known to the roman empire "Jesus Christ".Although they were both first born and should have carried the birth right "the Gem", they were both denied such and sent away. Rebekah knew that it was Gods desire and Will ti have Jacob rule over Esau. Gen 25.v 23 "And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger."So when the time was fully come to extend the blessing in Shem by Isaac to his first born, Jacob was reluctant, peradventure he be found out and be perceived by his father to be a deceiver, thus bringing a curse upon himself instead of a blessing. But his mother was adamant and insisted that he "Jacob" go through with the plot; (knowing it was a part of God's plan) Rebekah says to Jacob her son Gen 27 vs 13 "And his mother said unto him, Upon me be thy curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them." Thus the plot was perfected and the blessings of Shem was extended to Jacob and not Essau. Isaac ensures the Shemetic lineage Gen 28 v1-2 "And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother."The sons of Abraham and Isaac who were rejected by God to carry on the lineage of Shem, were both blessed by their fathers but with a lesser blessing. Essau's resentment is shown in Gen 28 v 8-9 "And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father; 9 Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife."So we see through the Holy Scriptures that these two, Ishmael and Essau, would unite and become what we know today as Ishmaelite's or Muslims. Wealth along with instruments of war "sword" are their blessings. They would see themselves as defenders of their fathers Abraham's faith against the infidels of Rome and Europe. But Jacob goes back to his Shemetic lineage to get a bride Gen 28 v10 "And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran."At Haran Jacob becomes father to 11 sons by two sisters Leah and Rachel, and their handmaids Bilhah and Zilpah. He is greatly increased in wealth and decides to leave Haran to return to the land given to him by his forefathers through God. Gen 32 v 1 "And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him."Jacob demands a blessing of one of the angels with whom he wrestled all night. Gen 32 v 28 "And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed." Again Gen 35 v 10 "And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel."God restores the blessing of Abraham in Jacob Israel. Gen 35 v 11-12 "And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land."Benjamin the twelfth son of Jacob is born on the way to Bethlehem from Bethel. His mother Rachel dies in childbirth and is buried on the way. Joseph's two sons Ephraim and Manasseh, born to him in Egypt, though highly favored of the Lord are not chosen to carry on the lineage of Shem of the covenant. They were half-Egyptian-of Ham- born of Poti-pherah's daughter, a high priest of Ham. Now, when Israel is about to depart his earthly existence he calls for his 12 sons and blesses them all before each other. It is here in Genesis 49 that we see the extension of the blessings in Shem passed on to Judah by his father Israel. Gen 49 vs 8 "Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father's children shall bow down before thee." Rulership is designated in verse 10 "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be."
