Covenants and Dispensations

Covenants and Dispensations are terms used in the Bible to record specific events and times. It is important to recognize that covenants are made and put forth by God Almighty, in an attempt to keep alive and well his creation in Man. From the beginning of time when man was created in the image and likeness of God, but made of the dust of the earth; he fell from grace and thus from the presence of the Almighty God, the Light of this world. The Almighty God in his mercy has worked out a plan so that man could of his own free will return to his Maker. It is because of Man's disregard of God's Word in the first or Edenic Covenant that it had become necessary for the Almighty God in his everlasting mercy to institute other Covenants so that he could bring man back to his original state under the original covenant of grace in Eden. Man will live forever with God his creator. The Edenic Covenant must be fulfilled in the New Covenant and the Bible records its journey and fulfillment in Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.Dispensations are merely the time spans indicated to show Man's failure in adhering to the Word of God and his Covenant.
