From Pharez to Jesus the Christ in JudahPharez is the first born of Judah's Shemetic lineage born of Tamar, his dead sons wife.This is the lineage of Judah that would carry rulership until David is anointed by Samuel. This is the everlasting covenant of God the Almighty with David of Judah of Shem. Out of this covenant would appear on earth the Only Begotten Son of God. The redeeming lamb of God to free Israel from the bondages of the Roman Empire who served false gods and idols, but where chosen by God to capture Israel and to keep them in bondage, so that they (Israel) would repent of their rebellious ways and come back to being an obedient people who serve the only Almighty God. This is an ancient prophecy of Daniel.When Nebuchanezzar King of Babylon, besieged Jerusalem, and took it from the hands of Jehiokim King of Judah, it began what is known now as the first of 4 captivities that Israel would endure before their Savior would appear. The book of Daniel (603 BC) gives explanations of these empires.
Dan. 2 vs 37-38 . "Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold."
This head of gold is the head of the beast which represents the four world empires that would subjugate Israel. Verse 39 describes the 3rd world empire Greece. "And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth." When Israel is under the weight of the 4th oppressive world empire Rome, then would appear Israels Lord and savior in the flesh, as prophesied by Isaiah 7, we have the first prophecy of the coming of our Lord. Isa 7 vs. 14 "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel*. " This prophecy is recorded in 758BC yet we see the word Immanuel (Greek) taking the place of Yashua (Hebrew). But none of these 4 captivities have yet begun.
Chapter 9 shows that our Lord comes out of Judah to establish the throne of David. Out of Shem would appear the Son of God fulfilling Gen. 9 vs 36 "And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant." The lineage is strengthened in Isaiah 9 vs. 6-7 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."
The Davidic covenant of II Samuel 7 is to be enacted when Isaiah's prophecy is accomplished. "For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah". Our Lords lineage of Mathew verses 1-16 shows the lineage of Joseph Mary's husband - Foster Father - to our Lord. The Gospel of Luke also consolidates the lineage of our Lord in Judah in David. But this lineage is seen from Mary's family line. The angel of the Lord appeared unto her and decreed Luke 1 30-32 "And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:" His father David is again emphasized, securing the eternal covenant spoken of by Samuel. This lineage of David is taken from his son Nathan. We may trace Heli's progenitors back to Nathan and David. Luke 3 vs 31 "Which was the son of Melea, which was the son of Menan, which was the son of Mattatha, which was the son of Nathan, which was the son of David, "
This virgin Mary is the daughter of Heli of Judah. Joseph was his "son" in law not actually born of Helis loins but of the lions of Solomon. Josephs fathers name was Jacob. Math 1 v. 16 "And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. "
What may have confused readers of the past centuries is the terminologies found in St. Luke 3 vs 23 "And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli," The son of Heli is in italics, meaning his son through marriage thus his son-in-law. so also was David referred to by his father in law Saul "As my son David", because David was married to Saul's daughter Michal. In conclusion, I say that Our Lord was conceived by the Holy Spirit; accepted by a virgin of Judah who's tribe is of Shem. His father is the Almighty God, the Creator of All. His flesh is incorruptible and his spirit is eternal. Yashua is given the key to the eternal life of the Father. But no one can come to the Father except through the son, who is the Only Way, the Truth, and the Life. Blessed is he who puts his trust in the Lord.
The LORD Yashua; "Immanuel", "Jesus Christ", Greek and Roman Connotations is ----- the propitiation for the sin of All mankind. Weather, as through his blood for the redemption of his people Israel and Judah, or as through the Cross which is the Roman symbol of his death by crucifixion. The Gentile nations must hear the Gospel (Truth) of our Lord and Savior Yashua; of his death and resurrection. John 3 vs. 15 "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." Thus anyone who would believe in his heart and confess with his mouth that Yashua (Jesus Christ) is God, the Redeemer of his people Israel he too shall be saved. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Amen and Amen.
