This myth of his slaying the dragon takes place in the 7th century in Lybia, where and when many were said to be converted to Christianity by his slaying of the dragon in the assistance of a lady in distress before the king in Lybia.St. George’s Patronages were spread abroad from the 11th century and exist around the world, including: “Bulgaria, Aragon, Catalonia, England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, India, Iraq, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal, Serbia and Russia, as well as the cities of Genoa, Amersfoort, Beirut, Fakiha, Bteghrine, Cáceres, Ferrara, Freiburg, Kumanovo, Ljubljana, Pomorie, Preston, Qormi, Rio de Janeiro, Lod, Barcelona, Moscow, Tamworth and the Maltese island of Gozo, as well as a wide range of professions, organizations and disease sufferers.”Saints are men who supposedly have lived exemplary lives on earth being born of a woman.
